Bell acknowledges data breach

CBC Information experiences that Bell Canada has said hackers have accessed private data of what it says are not up to 100,000 consumers.

The broadcaster says the ideas accessed incorporated  names, electronic mail addresses, account consumer names and numbers, in addition to telephone numbers. Neither bank card nor banking data was once accessed.

“We make an apology for this example,” John Watson, Bell’s government vice-president of shopper revel in, stated a letter to affected consumers. “Please notice that further safety id and authentication necessities had been carried out in your account. When discussing your account with our provider representatives you are going to be requested for this extra data to ensure your identification.”
